Selena Gomez äußert sich zum ersten Mal zu Demi Lovatos Überdosis

Wir wollen jetzt keinen allzu großen Sensationsjournalismus draus machen, deshalb das Statement von Selena Gomez zu Demi Lovatos Drogen-Rückfall als Erstes:



„Alles, was ich dazu sagen werde ist, dass ich sie persönlich kontaktiert habe. Ich habe keine öffentliche Sache draus gemacht. Das wollte ich nicht. Ich liebe sie. Ich kenne sie, seitdem ich sieben Jahre alt bin. Also, das ist alles, was ich dazu sage."



Das waren die Worte, die Sel im Interview mit der amerikanischen ‚Elle' für deren Oktober-Ausgabe sagte. Daraufhin witterte das Magazin natürlich sofort ihre Chance und betitelte die Story mit „Selena breaks her silence" („Selena bricht ihr Schweigen). Selena gefiel das allerdings so gar nicht, denn ihrer Erinnerung nach ging es in dem Interview nicht um persönliche Dinge oder ihr Privatleben, sondern um genau drei Sachen: Ihre neue Mode-Kollektion mit ‚Coach', ihre neue Musik und ihr Engagement für die australische Organisation ‚A21', die sich für die Bekämpfung von Menschenhandel einsetzt.

Sichtlich enttäuscht, rechnete sie deshalb auf Instagram in einem langen Post mit dem Magazin ab: „Also. Es trifft mich schon sehr, dass ich eine Stunde lang mein Herz geöffnet und mit jemanden gesprochen habe, der diese Gedanken dann in so verkäufliche Wörter verwandelt hat [...] Der Zweck dieses Interviews war über meine Arbeit mit der A21, meiner neuen ‚Coach'-Kollektion und meiner neuen Musik zu sprechen [...] Ich verstehe, dass es immer ein großes Interesse an meinem Privatleben geben wird. So tickt unsere Gesellschaft einfach [...] Ich verstehe auch, dass Reporter immer versuchen werden, die Aufmerksamkeit ihrer Leser zu erreichen. Trotzdem werde ich weiterhin daran arbeiten, dass das, was ich öffentlich mache, auch meine Wahrheit ist [...] Deshalb werde ICH jetzt einfach ein paar Bilder von meiner neuen Kollektion und meiner Arbeit mit der A21 posten [...] Ich liebe euch alle vom Mond und bis zurück."

Alright. Speaking from my heart for over an hour to someone who puts those thoughts into paid words can be hard for me. The older I get the more I want my voice to be mine. This is all apart of my work within an industry that’s been around longer than all of us have been. The purpose of my interview was three fold. My work with A21, my new collection with Coach, and some new music. As I’m aware there will always be interests in one’s personal life because that’s the pace of our ‘social’ generation. I’m grateful for my position and I will always find ways to make my job more about others and giving back— all while having the best time with my music, fashion, film and my love for learning about the world that I’m eager to tap into more and more. Church is a name for something far more personal. There’s always agenda seeking information on such a subject and I understand why. Rarely do I mention church (and I didn’t) , but I’ll always feel comfortable talking about my values and beliefs. I respect that from everyone and anyone. I understand that reporters are working to grab the attention of a reader, however I will always work to ensure that what is public represents my truth. I’m a bit bummed but rarely surprised. Y’all know me and my heart. I can’t help it. So I’ll post some of MY photos from the collection and work with A21. My heart. Wir können Selenas Frustration schon verstehen, schließlich war das absolut nicht ihre Intention der Cover-Story. Trotzdem sind wir schon etwas erstaunt, dass Selena, die schon so viele Jahre in der Branche unterwegs ist, ihre Interviews anscheinend nicht abnehmen lässt. Andernfalls hätte sie ja schon im Vorfeld gewusst, dass das ‚Elle'-Magazin die Story zu deren Gunsten drehen will. Das Traurige: Daraus wird Selena jetzt sicherlich gelernt haben und in der nächsten Zeit bestimmt nicht einmal mehr ansatzweise persönliche Dinge von sich preisgeben ...
